How do I find out what Native American tribe my ancestors were from? "
I recently learned that a little way behind in my family tree We are Native Americans. How can I know that we belong to the tribe, and how can I find general information about genealogy and such. Please, give me no answer about those horrible "Ancestors" or other related websites. They do not work for me. THANKS! Otherwise or websites that I could help, please post!
While their ancestors may have "belonged" to a tribe, most likely do not "belong" a tribe. "Being" means that you are part of the tribe. In today's terms "membership" means registered. You know whether they were registered or not, and since you are asking this question is very unlikely that you are enrolled. Therefore, do not "belong" to a tribe, but may descend from a tribe or a person of the tribe. Now, find out what (if any) that descend from the tribe depends on you. * * You need to do research. Which of your ancestors is that supposed to be indigenous? Where were they born? What are the tribes in that area at the time of your ancestor born? Contact this tribe and ask if your ancestor was part of that tribe (ie, "belonged" or enrolled). If so, there you have it. If not, who was his alleged ancestor native Parental Indians? Where was this person born? What are the tribes in that area at the time of the person born? Contact the tribe, and so on. If your ancestor was a native tribe then have a record of that person.

Canyon Trilogy: Native American Flute Music
$10.71 Nakai's free improvisations on this album are based on his impressions of the Anasazi and Sinagua sites, ancient cliff dwellings that were home to communities of Native people thousands of years ago. By using the Roland SDE 3000 Digital Delay system, Nakai is able to play duets with his own echo, in an effort to emulate the echoes of the past that haunt these ruins. On this recording, Nakai's flut... |
